Studio Complete!

After many late nights of organizing, reorganizing, cleaning and decorating, my STUDIO is finally DONE! WAHOO! As in the previous post, my Studio use to be the guest room, primarily for my Mom. Unfortunately, she only visited a couple of times a year so she graciously gave her room to me.
THANKS MOMMY DEAREST!
Moving the furniture upstairs wasn't too bad. My Princess helped with the bookshelves and my strong Hubby helped with the armoire and sewing table. If you look closely at the bookcase there are new projects in the works!

Studio Complete!

I purchased a new work table and painted it sage green and antiqued it. I love the way it came out. I also bought two mug shelves, painted them green and put dowels through them to hang spools of ribbon.
I'M SUCH A SMARTY PANTS!
I found a green wire three tiered plant stand at a clearance center for $8 and found that it holds my spools of cotton string and large spools of ribbon. Functional, pretty, cheap...BONUS!

Studio Complete!

I know my Studio doesn't compare to some of the amazing ones featured in Where Women Create, or on some of the blogs I visit, but you know what?
IT'S MINE OL' MINE!
I love it! I know I will be happy and more productive in my Studio and I will hopefully fulfill a few of my creative and artistic dreams.

CrEaTiVe MeSs!

CREATIVE MESS IS BETTER THAN IDLE NEATNESS!
Well, that's at least what my friend Jeanne says......and I absolutely believe her!
This was the small space I had to create in. It looks more unorganized than it really was. My biggest problems were: not enough lighting, not enough table space and supplies were stored in all sorts of containers.....even in different rooms!
OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND!
Well, MC (my hubby) convinced me to take over the guest room, which was actually my Mom's room when she visited. Unfortunately, she only comes a few times a year.
Soooooooooooooooo,
I'm turning it into a studio for me! Wahoo! I have been working on it for weeks and I'm trying to make sure that everything has it's place, it's labeled and it's withing reach. I am hoping it is going to be finished by this weekend. I haven't made anything new in so long and I have the itch!
I need to be productive and SOON!
I will be posting pictures of my new studio as soon as it's done. It's not going to be as fancy as some of the studios in Where Women Create, BUT it will be MINE OL' MINE!

March Madness

UConn's Women are Champions AGAIN for the 7th time with an UNDEFEATED season!

We are diehard UConn Women's Basketball fans. Honestly, why wouldn't we be? We live in CT not far from campus, we play basketball and we love to watch the UConn Women's Basketball team. What a great bunch of talented players. Two of the best players in the country, Maya Moore and Tina Charles, happen to be as nice as they are talented ball players. A friend of mine has an "in" with one of the coaches, Shea Ralph, a UConn alumni player, who also happens to be a wonderful young woman. She gives us some insight on the ladies. It's nice to cheer for young women who are inspiring, smart and talented. It's amazing the number of female athletes who are scholar athletes. Maya Moore is included with a 3.9 GPA. How does she manage? Well, being an Assistant coach for the Princess' team this year was really special. They were undefeated until the championship game and unfortunately LOST! They were good sports and played really hard. One of our players were injured, so we were down to six, and then one fouled out in the 3rd quarter and we were down to 5. The girls were out numbered and very TIRED! I can't imagine the Pride that Geno Auremmia has for his UConn team, I felt the same way about our girls. Who knows, a few of out girls may be fortunate to play at UConn in a few years. Until next season.....

Promised Pictures

I found some carved gold frames for the beautiful black and white (sepia) Madonna prints. They look so serene, calm, inspirational, hopeful. The reflection on the glass makes the pictures a little fuzzy. Hopefully you can appreciate how beautiful the artwork truly is.

SPRING is in the air! The winter chill in New England is finally on it's way out. We've all been waiting patiently. Just wanted to share an Easter picture of my Princess at Easter a few years ago. She picks her own holiday outfits and accessories. I think she does a great job. She especially did a awesome job with the shoes, I'm a RED shoe fanatic!!!! Another picture to share is of my handsome hubby. He's a die hard fisherman. He caught this HUGE trout last year on opening day. He's one of those fisherman who catches fish when no one else can. Pretty amazing. It must be his calm and quiet disposition. Quite the opposite of me! I'm one of those fishing widows from March through October. We even planned our wedding around opening day of trout season! Yikes! Enjoy the warmth and sunshine. Have a Hoppy Easter!
