Happy Easter !

SPRING is in the air! The winter chill in New England is finally on it's way out. We've all been waiting patiently. Just wanted to share an Easter picture of my Princess at Easter a few years ago. She picks her own holiday outfits and accessories. I think she does a great job. She especially did a awesome job with the shoes, I'm a RED shoe fanatic!!!! Another picture to share is of my handsome hubby. He's a die hard fisherman. He caught this HUGE trout last year on opening day. He's one of those fisherman who catches fish when no one else can. Pretty amazing. It must be his calm and quiet disposition. Quite the opposite of me! I'm one of those fishing widows from March through October. We even planned our wedding around opening day of trout season! Yikes! Enjoy the warmth and sunshine. Have a Hoppy Easter!

Treasures from Jack's

Well, I finally have the pictures of the treasures I scored working at Jack's. The pictures are taken in my garage b/c I still haven't had time to wipe everything down! I dug around in one of the MANY rooms @ Jack's not open to the public yet...being 'the Sistah' has it's perks! I LOVE my yellow chair. My 96 year old Grandma has a pink one that I use to sit on when she styled my hair when I was little. A beautiful memory, something I will never forget. I also scored some iron children's shoe forms, a small chest of drawers, a shelf/bench, misc littles (buttons and such) and some paper goodies. I found some very old black and white religious pictures. Mostly of the Virgin Mary. I love them all. I am going to get some frames before I share them with you. For some reason, I just have a thing for Religious Icons. They are so beautiful and soft, calming and spiritual. I am just drawn to them. You'll see why in the next post.

All Cooped Up!

Well, they finally did it! It was a conspiracy, I say! I was at Jack's Barn working all weekend while my Hubby, my Daughter and my Mother-in-law all decided it was time to get chickens and a coop. During dinner on Monday evening, they A-S-K-E-D me if it would be all right to put the coop next to the shed and that we would only get SIX chickens. (The decision was already made.) As they well know, from my previous statements, I AM NOT TAKING CARE OF ANY CHICKENS! I love cute fuzzy little chicks and I love to decorate with them, but I really have no need for them as pets. Every pet that has come and gone, whether mine or NOT, has been loved and taken care of by me. I questioned, WHO is going to take care of them while my Hubby is fishing, my Daughter is too tired or lazy and my Mother-in-law can't trek in the snow? The answers were all the same, "don't worry, we will do it". Their answers somehow perplexed me considering I am the first one up in the am and the last one to bed which always means 'animal caretaker'. Be certain that I won't be the first one out of bed when the chicks arrive! Oh, did I mention they will be living in the den until they are big enough to be in the outside coop? I wonder how Pat the cat and Skippy are going to like that! Stay tuned!

H-E-L-L-O Jack's!

H-E-L-L-O?! Where were you this weekend? You should have been at Jack's Barn in Oxford New Jersey! OMG! What a gorgeous weekend weather wise and what a FABULOUS time at the Grand Opening! The sun was shining, people were shopping, hot dogs were cooking and the register was ringing. A great time for everyone. I was lucky to be part of Chris and Darren's new adventure. It was amazing to have friends and family all working together to make the weekend a success. Here are some pictures of the shop.....some of my favorite pieces. I haven't unloaded my truck as of yet. When I do (sometime tomorrow), I will snap pix of the goodies I earned working! Wahoo! I believe the website is already up and running so take a peek, Jacksbarn.com. The next big event is April 17 and 18th when they are having a barn sale outside. You can rent a space and sell your own 'junk/treasures'. See the site for details. It was really nice to work and spend time with Bippy, Matteo, Sadie, Harley and Joe. Best to Chris (left) and Darren, nice job bros! xoxoxoxo

Grand Opening of Jack's Barn

I am privileged to announce the Grand Opening of Jack's Barn in Oxford, New Jersey this Saturday and Sunday, March 20-21 from 10-5. My older brother Chris and my brother-in-law Darren recently purchased Jack's Barn, a 3 floor building housing lots and lots of FABULOUS Antiques! I am heading down to Jersey after work tomorrow so that I can see all of the goodies first hand. I am so excited! I hope I can concentrate on helping customers instead of dreaming how furniture and accessories will look in my house! Ill be shopping for a hutch, farm table and a set of mismatched chairs for my kitchen. If you are ever in the Oxford area, cruise to Jack's Barn. Their hours are Thurs-Sun, 10-5. Also, there's a good flea market down the road about a mile or so every Sunday. Hey, Big Bro and Darren are letting me bring some Skippy Doodle stuffs to sell. I hope Chris and Darren will let me work for trade!

Here Chick Chick !

Well, here are some of my favorite little peepers! I was enjoying every little minute when putting them out on display last night. The little basket with the sheer ribbon and vintage chicks is probably my favorite. I found it at one of the best Antique stores in Putnam, CT. I found them on one of my wonderful "Magical Mystery Tours" with my friend Jeanne. And can you believe that it was only $8? I had the lady take it out of the LOCKED case so I could look at the tag closer....YEP, she verified it, $8.00! I tried not to look so excited, but I was jumping and screaming on the inside! Enjoy the chicks. I'm sure they'll put a smile on your face!

I Love Chenille Chicks !

One of my favorite things about Easter decorations and Itty Bitties are CHENILLE CHICKS! I have a big collection of old and new, mini and big, yellow and pink and many other varieties. I can't get enough! I will have to post pictures of my little peepers so you can get the full effect. I'll be putting them out tomorrow sometime with the rest of my Easter goodies. I can't wait to unpack them. They make me smile and giggle. My husband thinks I'm kooky. He ALWAYS tells me, "as long as you like them Honey". Needless to say, he's a keeper! Anyway, I decided to make some ornaments and nut cups for my Etsy site with this little peepers. They're cutsie and fun. Take a peek if you can and enjoy!
